I’m Natalie — mom of two, wife, teacher, and dog lover. Welcome to Happily Painted Home, where I share my love for painting, decorating, and making a home feel warm and lived-in.
I love painting, decorating, refinishing – basically anything having to do with transforming and changing my home. For me, it all starts with and comes down to the color schemes. Maybe that’s why I’ve painted every room in my house multiple times!
If you are anything like me, you enjoy a little stroll through the internet, searching for paint colors and decorating ideas. I just kept running into the same problem – I often can’t relate to the houses I’m seeing. When I try to visualize the furniture or decor in my house and paint colors, my more “normal” sized rooms and limited natural light (yes, the direction your house is facing actually matters) makes it challenging. Now please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love looking at those big, beautiful homes! I just can’t fully relate to them – and that’s ok! The everyday homes need love too, and I love MY home!
I just had to put a lot of thought (and visualization strategies – AI is your friend) into my projects. So this is why I created Happily Painted Home! Hopefully you can take some ideas from my home to yours!
When scrolling through, please remember one thing – Many of these photos are new, but some were taken long before starting this blog from projects I’ve completed over the years. I’m also not a professional (photographer or painter)! Sometimes you may see a little mess. Two young children and a dog, remember? 🙂
